“I am a qualified and pre-accredited counsellor & psychotherapist with the IACP. My ethos is to provide a safe space for people to share their story, heal and move towards living an open fulfilling life.”

About me

As a pluralistic counsellor & psychotherapist I believe people and their journeys throughout life are unique, therefore therapy must be tailored to the individual and is not a one size fits all. Being a pre-accredited and qualified therapist by the IACP, I also hold a MA in Psychology from the University of Limerick and a MSC in Pluralistic Counselling and Psychotherapy from IICP college. As a pluralistic psychotherapist I place collaboration and client needs/goals at the forefront to encourage client resilience, healing and self discovery. I believe people require different support throughout different times in their life. Therefore utilising a range of evidence based psychotherapies allows for a diversity of approaches to mental health struggles & mental well-being and an opportunity for you to find what truly helps and supports you. Whilst we navigate your struggles I will provide a safe, caring and nonjudgmental space. I use a multitude of evidence based psychotherapies to support clients namely:Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Person centred Therapy & Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I work with a diverse range of issues: Anxiety, Depression, Relationships, Grief, difficult life changes.
What my therapy is like?
Psychotherapy provides a space for you to learn more about yourself. If you’re feeling lost, uncertain or struggling with your mental health: therapy can be a place to gain clarity on your values and what you truly want out of life. Therapy can also be a place to work through trauma and unresolved pain from the past. As a pluralistic practice we focus on tailoring the therapeutic approach to your needs and preferences. The role of the therapist is to act as an empathetic and collaborative guide to your journey of self discovery and healing.
Therapy is a safe space where you can talk about anything that is on your mind and anything that is troubling you in your life both past and present. Each session of therapy lasts 50 minutes.
Therapy is offered both online and in person to accommodate all needs and preferences. You deserve a space that is just for you and to invest in your well-being and we’re here to support you.
Testimonials
“Having worked with Mairead for over a year I can truly say that she helped me to become a person that loves myself. The growth and change I experienced since starting my sessions is so visible. In my sessions there was a focus on working toward long-term goals while learning skills and techniques to manage all kinds of issues, like anxiety, depression, and grief. Mairead’s therapy was so flexible that I was able to practice all different kinds of therapy, such as CBT, Person Centred Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This approach meant I always had a form of help suited to me for any issue I was facing (And in my last session we had tea and biscuits so what more could you want!!).”
